The Project Release Tracking Program is one of several internal efforts to drive continuous improvement for the benefit of the community. The program has several goals:
- Continuously improve the quality and reliability of DotNetNuke Projects.
- Promote continuity and develop best practices that benefit both project users and developers.
- Develop and promote quality assurance skills and awareness in our team and community.
- Increase involvement in peer review and interaction (despite a distributed team environment).
The steps of the process are carried out by Project Leads and other members of the Core Team. Our Platinum Benefactors are also able to add comments and download modules through the tracker when projects reach the “dogfooding” phase, which typically precedes public release by a couple of days.
Every step in the process is subject to change as projects continue to mature and evolve. Continuous integration, automated builds and packaging, test tracking tools, etc. will all have positive effects over time. We hope that you will find this information helpful and encourage you to get plugged in somewhere!
